Edgewood understands dementia and other types of memory loss. We are dedicated to providing memory care services that positively impact cognitive functioning and improve quality of life.
Attention to Detail
Living space is integral to balanced living for Memory Care residents. Edgewood’s Memory Care residents live as independently as possible within a smaller, more comfortable environment specifically designed to decrease anxiety, confusion and depression. Residents share home cooked meals and stimulating activities in the family-style dining room with adjoining kitchen. The adjacent great room has a cozy fireplace for visiting, reading, games or even a nap. There are soothing room colors and décor throughout.
Residents choose from studio or shared apartments. Each features an open closet and handicap accessible half-bathroom. Residents are encouraged to bring their own special pictures, furniture and treasures to make their apartment home. Furnished apartments are also available.
Memory Cue Cases next to each resident’s room are decorated with personal memorabilia for visual cue to the location of each residents room.
Secure, Safe – and Active
Edgewood’s Memory Care environment helps residents participate in daily living through structured routine activities that integrate each resident’s social, intellectual, physical and emotional wellness.
Residents can participate in organized daily exercise, walking outdoors in the courtyard, games occasional outings, music and other activities. We also tailor one-on-one activities to meet individual needs.
Alzheimer’s and memory loss affects each individual differently. Our staff members have ongoing training to understand the conditions and challenges associated with this illness. Our staff to resident ratio allows us to provide more personal attention and help residents maintain daily living skills.
As people lose the ability to learn new things, Edgewood staff members reaffirm what residents do remember to help improve self-esteem and reinforce positive experiences. Residents may assist in activities such as meal preparation, cleanup, folding laundry and other tasks.
The best testimony to our success comes from the residents, who routinely show increased interest in life, participate in planned activities and recreation, and make new friends.
You or your loved one will enjoy life fully, and when you need us we'll always be there. That's our promise to you.
